If the holidays wore you out   and you're still trying to recover   you're in luck! Jon Gordon is the author of the book The 10-Minute Energy Solution, and he says that's all you need! Ten minutes   to rev up your engines and put you in a better frame of mind. Here are his tips to help you perk up, courtesy of Woman's Day magazine.

First: Sip cold water every 15 to 30 minutes. Your body has to work extra hard to warm up the water, and in the process it sends a wake-up signal to your brain. Not only that, but it speeds up your metabolism to help you burn more calories.

Tip #2: Clean up your office or personal space. Clutter makes you feel sluggish. So tidy up and you'll have more energy. Another way to rev up your brain: Don't slouch. Simply improving your posture will increase the flow of oxygen through your body. And cells need oxygen in order to make energy. And one last tip to help you perk up: Listen instead of speaking. You expend energy by talking, but take it in by listening. So, close your mouth and lend an ear. Besides, people enjoy hanging out with you more when you pay attention to what they have to say.
